Yin Yoga utilizes poses on the floor, either sitting or lying down, held for 3-5 minutes each in order to modestly, within limits, stimulate ligaments through traction and compression of joint tissue. In the first segment of this “Happy Hour Class”, you will move through most of your body for the support of the joints, tendons, and ligaments of the low back, spine, hips, sacrum, knees and ankles. Restorative Yoga is more ‘yin’ than Yin Yoga, meaning even more subtle. In this portion of the class you will find poses, with all the necessary blankets and blocks arranged. Instead of asking your body and mind to do more, this practice will soothe your nervous system, quiet your mind, and help you release deeply held tension in a completely passive way. This class will provide the perfect opportunity for you to get the nourishing rest you need in order to move back into the evening feeling revitalized and refreshed.
